View of the two Blockhouses in the Amstel outside Amsterdam, built to defend the city after the failed attack by William II on Amsterdam on July 30, 1650. Completed in 1651, they were demolished again in July 1654. Subject heading within the Atlas Amsterdam: Fortifications: Bastions - Ravelin - Watchtowers - Blockhouses - Casemates - Designs of Alva's Costume.
