About this work
Oak sideboard with an open base. The front of the cabinet is divided into four compartments. These are decorated with pierced panels featuring tracery: a lily, a flint and steel with crossed arrows and an imperial crown, a flint and steel, and a flame (?) with a royal crown. The central stile, ending in an angel figure with a coat of arms, separates two drawers. The side and back walls are decorated with letter panels. The feet are decorated with lions. Belonged to a civic guard in Alkmaar. Subject category within the Atlas Amsterdam: KOG - Linnaeus Horticultural Society.
