About this work

Bronze satirical medal from after the defeat against Germany, based on a 10-centime coin of Emperor Napoleon III. Obverse: bust of the emperor to the left. Head wearing a German helmet. Reverse: owlets, seated on a bundle, from which lightning bolts emerge, with spread wings. Insulting inscriptions on obverse and reverse. Smooth edge.
