About this work

Copper coin. Obverse: shield of the EIC held by two standing lions on a scroll bearing an inscription, with a quiver and flag in their claws, and a crest above. Illegible date at the bottom. Reverse: one-line inscription in Malay in Arabic characters within a wreath of leaves: pulu penang. The coin is clipped.
