Five shillings from New South Wales, Australia, 1813

Silver coin with large round hole in the center. Obverse: crowned head of the Spanish king Charles IV. Below, date: 1806. Around the hole, value indication: five shillings. Reverse: crowned composite coat of arms of Spain between two columns with a scroll bearing a motto. In the inscription, place indication: Mo [=Mexico City] and value indication: 8 R. Around the hole, country indication and date. Rope border. The coin, a Mexican peso or 8 reales from 1806, was struck in 1813 in such a way that the large outer rim could be circulated as 5 shillings.
