About this work

Archer's medal of Middelburg. Obverse: two crossed muskets and the fire steel of Burgundy with foliage. At the top an impressed coat of arms. Inscription: VALEANT QVI INTER NOS DISSISVM (Away with those who sow discord among us). Bottom: year 1739. Reverse: a phoenix on its nest that is set on fire by the sun.
