Silver medal, 3rd size. Issued by the magistrate to the shooters. Obverse: Neptune punishing the winds standing on his chariot with the city coat of arms of Amsterdam with imperial crown. In the foreground two birds falling from the nest. Legend: MOTOS PRAESTAT COMPONERE FLVCTVS (Better to calm the agitated waves). Reverse: two birds in a nest on calm sea, while the sun rises in the distance from the water. Banner with inscription: HALCYONIBVS REDVCTIS/ SENATVS AMSTELOD(AMENSIS)/ CIVIBVS SVIS HOC/ ANTIQVAE VIRTVTIS/ SPECTATAE Q/ (VE) FIDEI/ PRAEMIVM LARGITVR (After the kingfishers have been returned the government of Amsterdam has given this reward to its [armed] citizens for their ancestral bravery and their proven loyalty).
