About this work

A shop in a street. On the right, a brush maker attaches bristles with resin and pitch to a slotted board and glues them to a wooden handle. Behind the counter, a woman sells various types of hair, clothing, and shoe brushes, glass brushes, dusters, brushes, pens, and feather dusters.
