About this work
On a courtyard in front of a farmhouse or inn stands a man with a peep show, a raree show. Around him men, women and children have gathered. In the background a child with a hoop approaches. Below the image an eight-line caption and the coat of arms of Claude Alexander de Villeneuve, Count of Vence, with an angel on either side.
