About this work

The eleventh sleigh in the procession. A sleigh with the personification of Music, drawn by a horse, followed by two Roman soldiers. Part of a series of twelve plates of the sleigh ride on 24 January 1776 organized by the Leiden society Veniam Pro Laude on the occasion of the Second Centenary of the Liberation of Leiden (3 October 1574) and the founding of the University of Leiden (8 February 1575). Numbered in the lower left: 11. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: Education and Sciences, Student Life.
