View of the new Schouwburg on the Leidseplein in Amsterdam, inaugurated on 15 September 1774. To the left the Leidsepoort. This city theatre was built to replace the theatre on the Keizersgracht which burned down in 1772 and itself burned down in 1890. Numbered in the top right: In de Mercurius October 1774.
