On the oval in ink: Jacob Berkhout united in marriage with Alida Verlaan on 7 Apr. 1760. Seated on the left of the oval is the groom depicted with a music book on his knee and a string instrument. On the right sits the bride with a spinning wheel, a basket and a cradle with a baby. On both sides of the oval grapevines with grape clusters, birds, a mouse and insects. In the corners medallions with biblical scenes. At the bottom symbolic representations with obelisks and Time with an hourglass.
