Silhouette of eight persons engaged in music, reading and needlework. From left to right: two ladies at a small table, the left one drawing a bouquet of flowers and the right one busy with needlework. Next to them a standing man with raised index finger leaning on a chair on which a reading lady sits. Opposite them two children, a girl and a boy with needle and stick in hand. To the right a lady with hat seated at a harpsichord. Behind her chair another lady, also with a hat on, looks on. Above the company hang two birdcages with in each cage a little bird.
