A nurse with bare breast has a swaddled child on her lap. Next to her a wicker cradle. In the background a married couple, sleeping in a four-poster bed. With an inscription of four lines in Dutch. Fourth print from the series: the four times of the day. Subject categories within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: The Beginning, Middle and End of Man. Birth and lying-in room.
