About this work

Wedding print from 1726 with an allegorical representation of Cupid seated on a peacock standing on a wine barrel. To the left and right two more peacocks. To the left an alchemist child and to the right a Bacchus child with a wine glass. At the top the motto 'Virtus sine superbia & voluptas sine libidine animos aeternis flammis accendent' and integrated monograms. The lower half decorated with grapevines. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: The Beginning, Middle and End of Man. Marriage and wedlock.
