About this work

A town crier announces the death of someone to a woman (a tavern keeper's wife) in the doorway of a wine shop. On the hanging sign: Vry Wyn. The print is accompanied by a sheet with the French title. Part of the reduced copies from 1806 after the plates of Dutch national costumes from the years 1803-1807. Subject categories within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: De Kleeding, Volkskleederdracht.
