About this work
Kitchen interior in which a group of fat people indulge in all kinds of food and drink. On the right, cooking and roasting takes place in the fireplace. In the foreground on the left, two children playing with food, and in the middle a drinking woman breastfeeding a child, on the right a drinking monk or priest. In the background, a poor, thin man with a bagpipe is being driven out of the door. Below the image, a two-line verse in French and in Dutch.
