New Year's greeting from the Amsterdam night watch (ratelwacht) for the year 1850. Centrally a poem surrounded by a decorated frame with at the top two lions with the coat of arms of Amsterdam. On both sides two figures, on the left Minerva and below her a night watchman with the New Year's greeting. On the right Lady Justice and below her a night watchman with a ratel. Dedicated by the night watchmen from quarter 14 section 4: J. Ravens, G. Poelenjée, W. Burger and M. Rietveld.
