On the right in the background, a child eating from a pan. In the foreground, a child at the table gives a piece of meat to a dog. On the left, a servant with glasses. Scene from the comedy De Stiefmoêr by Thomas Asselyn from 1684, in which the character Jochem receives a visit from the poor family of his second wife.
