About this work

Rectangular Snakes and Ladders board with 76 images strung together by a ribbon with inscriptions. Each image is either a portrait of a historical figure, or an image of or allegory on a historical event from Dutch history, or one or more coats of arms with mention of a historical fact. At some images are game rules ('go on to' or 'go back to' or 'draw the pot' etc.). The game starts with Philip II and ends with William V.
