Assignat of fifty sols, series 1237 issued 23 May 1793

Single-sided printed assignat; flat, bounded at top and sides by bands divided into compartments with leaf ornament and inscriptions; in the central flat: inscription "Domaines nationaux / Assignat / de cinquante sols, / payable au porteur" above signature and altar with value indication on it, next to it sit on the left a woman with a half-written tablet in hand, and on the right a woman with a fasces and balance in hands; in the flat two relief stamps are placed: first stamp: winged, half-naked young man, writing on a table within inscription; second stamp: standing woman with sword and balance in hands, books at her feet.
