Bronze medal. Obverse: man in Roman toga with partially unrolled paper in right hand, seated on an elevated throne, flanked by two Cupids with wreaths in their hair, one holding a rudder and the other a fish; kneeling before the throne is the Dutch maiden, depicted as a woman with a shield under her right arm and left hand on her chest; lower edge: measuring rule, set square, and signature. Reverse: inscription within a decorative border and wreath of eight stars.
