About this work

Man in the uniform of a cavalry officer of the Garde du Corps on horseback. The rider (William V) is dressed in a costume consisting of a blue coat with braiding, a beige waistcoat and breeches, boots, a black hat with ostrich feathers, and white gloves; on the chest, a badge with a Greek cross; to the left, slightly behind the horse, stands a footman (servant) in red livery, with blue shoes, and a cap with the coat of arms in gold on the front (of Orange-Nassau?). In the background, a tree with a broken top and a thicket; on the right, a white tent with a white/blue flag.
