Satire on the School Struggle in Belgium in 1895. A pastiche on the Judgment of King Solomon, who must choose between the church as the proponent and the liberal opponent of the school law, with a crying schoolchild in the center. The inscription at the bottom reads: Poor Belgian Solomon!. Published in the supplement of 'De Kroniek' on August 4, 1895.
