Satirical print on the attempts by Hubrecht, director of the Bell Telefoon Maatschappij, to prevent Treub and the municipality of Amsterdam from having the telephone network ready by 1 November 1896. The struggle is depicted through the story of the Erlkönig by Goethe. Published in the supplement of 'De Kroniek' on 1 November 1896.
