About this work

Issue of the satirical magazine De Notenkraker of 24 August 1907, first year, number 34. Cover with illustration of a hen (Catholic Social Action) hatching progressive ducklings to her surprise. Following the Catholic Social Congress on 10-11 August 1907 in 's-Hertogenbosch. Part of a complete first year (1907). Each issue contains 8 pages, partly still uncut, with a caricature by Albert Hahn on the front and Hahn's prints interspersed with the text on the remaining pages. In the letter 'D' of the title is depicted a head of a so-called nutcracker.
