About this work

Homemade carbide lamp consisting of three interlocking parts: a paint can; a piece of zinc pipe with a round disc soldered to one end, wider than the pipe, onto which an iron rod with screw thread and two bolts is attached; a slightly narrower zinc pipe, closed at one end with a round disc through which a tube runs containing the wick. Inscription on the bottom: WEHRM / 266.
