View of the rear of the Resident's House in the Simpang district of Surabaya. Country house with outbuildings in a forest by a river under a large cloudy sky, 30 September 1809. At the order of Governor-General Daendels, the original country house from 1798 was thoroughly renovated in 1808–1811. See pendant with view of the front.
