About this work

Box from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 90% preserved: part of the bottom is missing. Porcelain money box with two compartments, painted in underglaze blue with oval medallions on the sides containing flower branches surrounded by a meander motif. The sherd is glassy white and has little embedded dirt. The glaze is blue-tinted. The bottom is glazed. The footring is straight and faceted. No oven sand was found. NG-1977-121-B-W is the corresponding lid.
