About this work
Lid of a box from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw'. Made of porcelain, the lid is painted in underglaze blue with roses and rocks. The shard is glassy white with little embedded dirt. The glaze is blue-tinted. The base is glazed. No kiln sand was found.
