About this work

Small bowl from VOC ship 'De Witte Leeuw', 100% present. The bowl is flat with a nearly straight wall. The footring is low and faceted on one side. The bowl is made of good quality clay and has few impurities. The base is convex, has radial ribs and kiln sand was found on it. The glaze is blue-tinted and thin with cracks and pinholes. The floor of the interior is decorated with blooming lotus plants with a duck underneath.
