About this work
Plate from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 60% present; parts of the center and wall are missing. The sherd is glassy white and contains little embedded dirt. The glaze is blue-tinted and flakes off over parts of the rim. The glaze has pinholes and small firing cracks at the corners of the rim. The base is glazed. The footring curves inward, is V-shaped, and faceted. One piece consists of seven fragments glued together.
