About this work

Porcelain plate from VOC ship 'White Lion', 95% present. Plate with a flat rim and a sculpted rim, decorated in underglaze blue. In the center a lotus symbol (artemisia leaf) surrounded by a broad, star-shaped band with geometric motifs. On the wall and rim alternating broad and narrow fields with luck symbols and flower and fruit branches (peach). Kraak porcelain in blue and white.
