About this work
Wooden block with a bronze rotating disc turning around a wooden axle. The block is an oval disc open on the sides, containing the bronze disc inside. It is held in place by a wooden pin. On the broad front and back, notches are provided for the rope. A small piece of the rope remains, which was still around the bronze disc when the block was recovered from the Western Scheldt (NG-1983-48-2). Based on the dimensions, it is likely a 'bramblokje'.
