About this work
Twenty-two silver eight-reales and fragments, Spanish American coins. These are more or less rectangular in shape. The irregularity comes from the fact that they were hand-cut from a sheet of silver. Many of these coins have been eroded in seawater. One side shows a cross. The other side shows the coat of arms of the King of Spain.
