About this work

Coloured drawing over two pages of eleven European men and women at a table with an enslaved woman. The standing man on the right in black must be Brandes. This room is located in the largest building at the point of the emergency kraal. From that elephant kraal just a bit is visible through the doorway. Part of the sketchbook of Jan Brandes, vol. 2 (1808), p. 26-27, 142-143 [same company], 144 [emergency kraal].
