About this work

Coloured drawing of a VOC ship of about 150 feet with a small boat alongside. Sailors are climbing the rigging. The draughtsman has indicated the proportions in pencil. Presumably this is a study for Brandes' view of Colombo from the North (NG-1956-378). With inscription. Part of Jan Brandes' sketchbook, vol. 2 (1808), p. 55.
