About this work
Coloured drawing over two pages of four 'small ships' seen by the draughtsman in the English Channel. Notable are the bright yellow and vivid red colours of the sterns of the ships. The sea and cloudy sky are executed in somber grey tones. With inscription. Part of Jan Brandes' sketchbook, vol. 2 (1808), p. 58-59.
