About this work
Coloured drawing spanning two pages of Lochner's residence and his land, where the four seasons are depicted through farming activities. The 'place' is named Vergenoegd and is located in Hottentots Holland (Stellenbosch area). The drawing shows the farm buildings and activities on the land against the vast South African landscape. Part of Jan Brandes's sketchbook, vol. 2 (1808), p. 114-115.
