Coal mining in an open-pit mine (day mine). Excavation work on the coal seam, with two tracks and tipping carts in the foreground. Part of the loose-leaf photo album presented by the staff of the Boekit-Asam Coal Mines in Sumatra to the retiring Engineer-Director H. Tromp on January 7, 1922.
