About this work

Two photos of the persecution of Jews in Amsterdam: Jews are herded by the "ordnungspolizei" from the Jewish quarter onto the Jonas Daniël Meyerplein (top photo). On the Jonas Daniël Meyerplein, the Jews are forced to kneel on the ground (bottom photo). The raid took place on 22 February 1941. On 23 February a second followed. 427 Jews were arrested. One survived the war. These raids were the cause of the February Strike.
