About this work

A large barn with a water well nearby for fermenting leaves for the production of indigo dye. This may be the Pendoelan company, of which Pijnacker Hordijk was the owner. Part of the photo album presented to J.M. Pijnacker Hordijk upon his departure from Yogyakarta in 1886.
