About this work

Black-lacquered semi-spherical sugar bowl standing on a black-lacquered foot with a gilded interior. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with three lobed relief cartouches depicting pagodas and a figure in a boat in an Asian landscape with trees and birds. The interior is gilded.
