Small open-air market of Javanese people under a large tree (kankantrie or wild kapok tree) on the grounds of the Ma Retraite plantation. Part of the photo album Souvenir de Voyage (part 1), documenting the life of the Doijer family in and around the Ma Retraite plantation in Suriname, 1903–1910.
