View in Saramaccastraat in Paramaribo, with a group of posing Surinamese Caribs. When the Caribs came to Paramaribo, they often stayed in Saramaccastraat, near the Suriname River from which they arrived. Part of the photo album of the Doijer family, Souvenir de Voyage (part 1), in and around the Ma Retraite plantation in Suriname in the years 1903–1910.
