About this work
Two Surinamese women named Sophie and Amalia posing with a tray and a kettle on their heads; they are bringing food to the Doijer family house on Oranjestraat in Paramaribo. Part of the photo album Souvenir de Voyage (part 2), about the life of the Doijer family in and around the Ma Retraite plantation in Suriname in the years 1903–1910.
