Spontoon with etched stadtholder's coat of arms (William IV or V)

The round shaft is of oak. The head is of iron and has a pierced base with an andries cross flanked by half moons; the double-edged blade is etched on both sides with a stadtholderly coat of arms of Prince William IV or V above a trophy of arms with flags, military musical instruments and lances; the scroll below bears the motto of the Princes of Orange since William the Silent: IE MAINTIENDRAI. The shoe is of iron.
