Flintlock rifle with an Amsterdam barrel

The Mediterranean lock was made in Algiers or Tunis; the lock plate is narrow and curves; the cock is fitted with two finger grips in the form of horns with coral at the ends; chiseled in relief with foliate work; the trigger is in the form of a knob with coral; Arabic inscriptions are on the lock plate and cock. The barrel is marked at the rear with the coat of arms of Amsterdam and at the bottom with the letters IC and an unclear mark; the sight bead is of brass. The stock is inlaid with silver leafy vines and arabesques, and with coral; the fore-end is shortened and closed with white cowhorn; the screw plates for the three lock bolts are also of white cowhorn and have the shape of flower cups; shows remnants of a protective cushion behind the lock.
