Flintlock musket after the French musket Modèle 1777. The lock plate bears an inscription with the factory name and is stamped with a crowned L; the mark NG is stamped on the inside. M 1777 is stamped on the tail of the barrel and an S below, along with an unidentifiable mark; a bayonet socket is attached under the muzzle. The stock is simply carved with, among other things, a six-petaled flower in a circle clearly made with a compass, and an 8; stamped with a round arsenal mark. The iron furniture includes, among other things, three sliding barrel bands, one with a hard-soldered brass front sight bead, a J-shaped screw plate, and a two-part trigger guard; the ramrod is of steel.
