The meter rests on two holders with rollers in a rectangular case painted grey-green copper, filled with six pieces of wood and cork. The case is closed with eight screws. A rectangular ownership plate of the Royal Academy is attached to the case. Originally, this meter was in a wooden box with a copper plate attached (see NG-2002-83-B).
